VAT e-learning guide

So you started your own business and you are not sure if you need to register for VAT.
The HMRC created an e-learning guide to help entrepreneurs through everything they need to know to get started.
There are useful tips from others who have been where you are now and practical case studies to help you along the way.
There is not a set time, so you can read the guide on your own pace and at the times that suit you.
VAT – E-learning guide: Getting started
The guide will give you the information you need to help you decide if you need to register for VAT (Value Added Tax).
Once you have told HMRC that you’ve started in business, you need to think about VAT (Value Added Tax).
You may need to register for VAT as soon as you start your business or you may be able to wait and let your business grow before you need to register for VAT.
If you’re not sure if you need to register for VAT or don’t know how to register, I suggest you work through the guide from start to finish.
